Early voting begins on Monday. Dec. 2 for the Copperas Cove city council Place 2 runoff election, with election day set for Saturday, Dec. 14.
For early voting, polls will be open at the Copperas Cove Early Voting Center, 508-B Cove Terrace.
Polls will be open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. during early voting, Dec. 2-5, and Dec. 9-10. On election day, polls will be open 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Candidates are Victor Perry Hall II and Rita Hogan were part of a three-way race in the Nov. 5 election, along with George Duncan.
In the Nov. 5 race, Hogan received 4,532 votes and Hall received 2,635, with Duncan receiving 2,228. Hogan did not receive a 50 percent-plus-one majority vote in that race, so it was necessary for the council to declare a runoff after canvassing the votes at the Nov. 19 city council meeting.
Christina Strohfus won the race for Place 1, receiving 5,520 votes, and candidate Howard Hawk receiving 4,006 votes. She will be sworn in at the Tuesday, Dec. 3 city council workshop.
