Although the City of Copperas Cove and CCISD does not hold elections in May like other governmental entities in other cities do, there will still be a ballot for some Copperas Cove voters to consider.
Copperas Cove voters will have the opportunity to cast ballots on May 6 for two positions on the Central Texas College board of trustees.
Place 6, held by incumbent Don Armstrong, is a three-way race between Armstrong, Camron Cochran, and Ernest Wilkerson.
Incumbent Rex Weaver is the sole candidate who filed to run for Place 7.
Armstrong has been on the board of trustees since first being elected in May 1993, and Weaver was first elected in May 2005.
The CTC board of trustees is made up of seven elected representatives from the school’s district, which include the Killeen and Copperas Cove independent school districts.
Each trustee serves a six-year term.
There will not be other positions open on the board of trustees until the May 2025 election. Other trustees include Jimmy Towers (2025), Bill W. Beebe (2027), Brenda Coley (2027), Charles Hollinger (2025) and James A. Pierce, Jr. (2025).
Early voting takes place at the Copperas Cove Early Voting Center, located at 508B Cove Terrace Shopping Center. Early voting days are April 24-28, and May 1-2, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Polls on Saturday, May 6, are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Voting for the CTC board of trustees is open to voters who reside within the CCISD and KISD school districts.
