Mayborn Planetarium assistant Carroll Beckom was professor of Galaxy Quest with the assistance of Flogert Bardhi at CTC’s College for Kids.

CTC’s College for Kids classes are tailored to youngsters three years to high school-age and combine fun and hands-on learning in the studies of science, performing arts, arts and crafts, life skills, languages and more.

The Galaxy Quest program held at the Mayborn Planetarium was open to students 6-12 years old who were interested in hands on activities that taught real science, space, and technology concepts. Beckom and Bardhi guided students through nearly 20 activities, from building a model prospector satellite and soda straw rockets to creating a lunar landscape and learning the phases of the moon with Oreos.
