Cove teen dies in early Friday motorcycle crash

18-year-old Isiah Williams of Copperas Cove lost his life in the early morning hours of Friday, December 15, in a motorcycle accident in the 200 block of Robert Griffin III Boulevard.
According to a press release issued by the Copperas Cove Police Department on Friday, Copperas Cove Police and Fire Departments responded at 2:08 a.m. for the report of a single-vehicle collision.
Williams was driving a blue 2006 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Robert Griffin III Boulevard, when he lost control of the motorcycle, striking a concrete curb and ejecting him from the motorcycle.
The press release stated that Williams succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Coryell County Justice of the Peace John Guinn at approximately 4:33 a.m.
Sgt. Kevin Miller with the Copperas Cove Police Department confirmed that Williams was wearing protective equipment including a helmet.
Williams was a partner at the Copperas Cove H-E-B Plus!, where he worked as a cashier and bagger. Over the weekend, flowers, mementos, and even a small Christmas tree had been placed at a light pole near the site of the crash on RGIII Boulevard.
A member of the Copperas Cove High School class of 2017, Williams is survived by his parents, Crystal and Tim Magness, Richard Williams, sisters Tori Arellano and Jordan Magness, brothers Mason and Uriel Williams, grandparents, great-Grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and Cousins.
A service is set for Williams at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20 at 2 p.m.
