During a hearing held at Tuesday night’s city council meeting, the council opened the floor to receive input about a proposed ordinance concerning the regulation of registered recyclable materials. If passed, the ordinance would enact a $250 annual fee to recycling centers that purchase scrap metal andpay cash for such purchases. Sherry Hall of Cove Recycling spoke up against the proposed ordinance during the hearing. Her business purchases scrap metal and pays cash to its sellers.
