Copperas Cove voters reelect incumbents to city council, plus two new council members; Gorres edges out Byrd by three votes in CCISD board of trustees race

Final unofficial results are in for local elections in Copperas Cove, with two incumbents being reelected to city council and two new members will take Places 5 and 7 on the dais.
Coryell County final unofficial results are as follows:
Copperas Cove city council Place 3
Dan Yancey, 1,163 votes, 57.92%
Jayme Sigler, 449 votes, 22.31%
Dario Eubank, 396 votes, 19.72%
Copperas Cove city council Place 4
Jay Manning, 1,143 votes, 56.11%
Benjamin Beck, 337 votes, 16.54%
Matthew Russell, 557 votes, 27.34%
Copperas Cove city council Place 5
Dianne Yoho Campbell, 1,415 votes, 69.09%
Gary Kent, 633 votes, 30.91%
Campbell will take the place presently occupied by Kirby Lack, who is term limited.
Copperas Cove city council Place 7
Jack Smith, 1,071 votes, 52.73%
Theresa "Terri" Deans, 960 votes, 47.27%
Smith will fill the remaining term for Place 7, which expires in November 2020.
Yancey, Manning, Campbell, and Smith also bested the other candidates in Lampasas County voting, with Yancey receiving 37 out of 56 votes cast, Manning receiving 33 votes, Campbell receiving 39 votes, and Smith receiving 34 votes.
In the race for the CCISD board of trustees, incumbents Mike Wilburn (Place 3) and Joan Manning (Place 4) were unopposed.
In the race for Place 5, Harry L. Byrd received 1,078 votes, or 50.05%, from Coryell County voters, with Jeff Gorres receiving 1,076 votes, or 49.95%.
Two votes separated the pair of candidates in Coryell County, and although Byrd was ahead of Gorres in Coryell County, Bell County voters changed the total.
In Bell County, 135 CCISD voters cast ballots, with Byrd receiving 65 votes (48.15%), and Gorres receiving 70 votes, (51.85%).
Including Bell and Coryell Counties, Gorres outpaced Byrd by three votes, 1,146 (50.06%), to Byrd’s 1,143 votes (49.93%).
Both the Copperas Cove city council and the CCISD board of trustees will canvass their election results at a future date.
