Copperas Cove Utilities Administration offices to be closed Thursday, Friday
Copperas Cove utility customers wanting to pay bills, connect or disconnect services might want to wait until Monday to do so.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday afternoon by the City of Copperas Cove, the Utility Administration offices will be closed Thursday, Jan. 30, and Friday, Jan. 31.
However, a staff member will be outside to accept check or money order payments, receive service requests, and answer questions.
“As we near the final stages of the integration, it is necessary for Utilities Administration staff to receive comprehensive training on the new system and work through final integration details to ensure quality services.”
The city will have electronic message boards placed at City Hall for further notification.
Cash payments will be accepted on Thursday and Friday at the city’s Development Services office, in Suite G at City Hall.
“The City of Copperas Cove and Utilities Administration is pleased to announce the transition process and integration of data is on schedule as planned. We are appreciative of the continued patience of our valued citizens and customers,” said the city’s public information officer.
The city anticipates the first round of billing will be generated mid-February.
The first round of bills will include consumption from the last reading date, as well as all applicable fees/charges; this essentially could be a ‘double’ bill.
“We understand the hardship this could cause for some, so customers will have the ability to establish a payment arrangement by speaking with a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to make the request once the next bills arrive.”
The city encourages customers to continue making some sort of payment in advance and in anticipation of receiving the reconciled bill.
Delaying payments during the transition period will not cause delinquency, late fees or disconnections, the press release stated.
