Copperas Cove police arrest Killeen man for aggravated assault with deadly weapon

On Sunday, Nov. 3, at approximately 2:04 p.m., Copperas Cove Police Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of Montell Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his thigh. Life-saving measures were immediately performed, and the victim was transported for further medical treatment. The victim is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between the victim and the suspect, identified as Kendall Jamal Pharr, a 34-year-old resident of Killeen, Texas, prior to the shooting.

Witnesses on scene identified Pharr, who was known to the victim. During the investigation, officers made contact with Pharr, who later turned himself in to the Copperas Cove Police Department later that same day.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

On Monday, Nov. 4, Pharr was arraigned by Justice of the Peace John Guinn and received a bond of $40,000. The Copperas Cove Police Department continues to investigate this incident.
