The City issued a media release on Tuesday that per Bell County Water Control & improvement District #1’s (BCWCID1) recommendation, the City of Copperas Cove has rescinded the Stage 2 Order for water restrictions and implemented a Stage 1 Order for Voluntary Water Conservation.
The Brazos River Authority (BRA) notified water systems with reservoirs in the Brazos River Basin that as a result of increased lake and reservoir levels, the Stage 2 restrictions could be lifted.
The recommendations for Stage 1 voluntary conservation include limiting using lawn irrigation systems or watering to two days a week, between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. and from 8 p.m. until midnight.
Outdoor watering should be limited between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, except when using a hand-held hose, a faucet-filled bucket, or a watering can of five (5) gallons or less.
Mayor Dan Yancey signed an Order for Stage Implementation, Water Restrictions – Stage 1.
“BCWCID1 and the City of Copperas Cove extend gratitude to all residents who contributed to conservation efforts since Stage 2 was ordered last summer,” the media release stated.
