Registration is going on now for the Copperas Cove Public Library’s 2024 Summer Reading Program.
The children’s program is open to kids age 1-15.
Signup is free online at Eventbrite at https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/copperas-cove-public-library/summe..., and continues through July 13.
The theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
Next week, on Tuesday, June 11, the program officially kicks off with a party at 2 p.m., with Big Time Bubbles.
During the summer reading program, kids and their families will keep track of their reading through a Reading Log, available for pickup at the library.
Those who complete each level of the reading log will receive prizes, with an invitation-only pizza party in store for those who complete all three levels by program’s end.
Each Thursday from June 13 through July 25, the program will feature free family friendly shows.
This year’s Thursday shows include Wild Things Zoofari on June 13, singer and entertainer Joe McDermott on June 20, Mark Fuller the Twisty Art Magician on June 27, the Austin Reptile Show on July 11; the Austin Mad Science Show on July 18; and Lucas Miller, the Singing Zoologist on July 25.
Showtimes are at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Although the shows are free, tickets must be reserved online and will be available the day before the performance, at 9 a.m. This is to ensure that the room does not exceed its capacity for performances.
Event ticket registration can be done at https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/copperas-cove-public-library/perfo...

Adult Summer Reading Program
Back again for 2024 is the Adult Summer Reading Program. This will take place each Friday, from 6-8 p.m., starting June 14 with the kickoff. This summer’s book is “The Women” by Kirsten Hannah. June 28 will feature an author night and dessert social, July 12 “Mysteries & Chocolates”, and July 26 is the wrap-up.
Each year, the Summer Reading Program is funded by the Friends of the Library, which uses proceeds from its book sale set up in the front lobby of the library to fund the events.
July 26 is the last day for readers to turn in summer reading logs to redeem for prizes.
