Copperas Cove city council candidate forum set for Monday

The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum for the Copperas Cove city council Place 5 special election. 
The forum will take place on Monday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at the City of Copperas Cove Technology Building, located at 508 S. 2nd St. 
The meeting will be live-streamed on Facebook on the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce's page. 
Candidates on the ballot include (in alphabetical order):
Timothy Traeger 
Dale Treadway
John N. Valentine III 
James Wilson
The winner of the four-way race will go on to serve approximately one year left on the term, with the seat having been vacant since January of this year. 
The May 4 election must see a majority of 50 percent plus one. If any candidate does not get that minimum number of votes, the city council would have to order a runoff election. 
Early voting begins on Monday, April 22, ahead of election day, May 4.
