Construction is now under way at the site of a future 33,000-square-foot Gold's Gym in Copperas Cove.
The property is immediately behind the Copperas Cove H-E-B Plus! and is the first sign of construction activity since the completion of the pad site where Jersey Mike's, Mattress Firm and the future Chipotle Mexican Grill are located.
Adjacent to H-E-B in the vacant property where phase II of the Five Hills Shopping Center is located, there has also been some infrastructure construction activity, although it has not been confirmed if that is related to the phase II construction.
The Leader-Press reached out to both Gold's Gym as well as Endeavor Real Estate, the developer which constructed phase I of the Five Hills Shopping Center, but did not receive a response from either office by press time as to the projected timetable of either construction project.
According to the information available from Endeavor Real Estate's website, leases have been executed for phase II with McAlister's Deli and Rack Room shoes for that location. Letters of intent have been signed and lease negotiations are under way with Burkes Outlet, Bealls, maurices, Ross – Dress For Less, as well as Rue 21. Only onespace, a 2,500-square-foot retail site, remains vacant in the phase II development plans.
Next to the Gold's Gym construction site, there are five more pad sites which line the Southeast Bypass and Robert Griffin III Boulevard and stop at the intersection of RGIII Boulevard and MLK Jr. Boulevard.
