Halloween is right around the corner, and with it comes the opportunity to dress up while collecting a plethora of goodies. However, for some families, acquiring costumes can prove to be a challenge.
To help make sure every child is able to have a costume, Cloud Real Estate established their ‘ALL TREATS no tricks Costume Shop’ last year and are continuing the tradition this year.
Cloud Real Estate has been collecting new and used costumes and invited the public to come to their locations in both Copperas Cove and Killeen to pick up a free costume, limited to one per child.
They held the costume giveaway Saturday during normal business hours and will hold their ‘ALL TREATS no tricks Costume Shop’ again Saturday Oct 26 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“We do this for anyone who is having difficulty purchasing a costume or can’t for whatever reason,” said Debra Beene, Broker/Owner of Cloud Real Estate. “That way every kid can have the opportunity to dress up.”
Beene and other staff members of Cloud Real Estate have been collecting costumes leading up to the event with some even donating some handmade costumes. Beene said that she came up with the idea because her children had a lot of outfits that they didn’t have any need for from past Halloweens as well as from their dance classes. She said that, rather than just throwing them out, she wanted to be able to recycle them and do some good with them by letting another child have them.
“We want to give back to the community as much as we can,” said Beene.
Beene said that between the two locations, they had about 100 costumes to give away. Those who have gently used costumes or who would like to donate new costumes can bring them to the real estate company up until closing time next Saturday to help them replace the costumes that they are giving away. Any costumes that are not given away by the end of the event will be put into storage to be given away at next year’s event.
