City staff pitches tourism vision to council

During the city council workshop last Tuesday evening, Joe Brown, the city’s Parks & Recreation Director, gave a presentation which included the draft of a job description in his department which would administrate the tourism and special events for Copperas Cove.

 

Brown told the council on Tuesday night that “the time frame for the chamber to declare its intent to utilize HOT funds for tourism events has passed and that declaration wasn’t made.”

 

Area groups have already indicated to the city their intent to request HOT funds and are preparing their presentations to the council for July, and the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau is not among them.
