Midway through their 16 action items from Tuesday’s agenda, the Copperas Cove City Council opted to change the wording of the city ordinance to limit the number of animalsto four per household instead of four per person. Mike Heintzelman, Deputy Chief of Police, requested the change in the language for legal purpose to restrict a family of five from having up to 20 animals. “The intent of the ordinance is to restrict the number of cats and or dogs per household,” Deputy Chief of Police Mike Heintzelman. “With the current wording this can’t be accomplished and it could be legally challenged.”
