The City of Copperas Cove is looking for locals to join the ranks of city staff.
On Saturday, Jan. 28, the city is holding a job fair at the Copperas Cove Public Library, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Applicants need not bring resumes with them to the event.
Ahead of the fair, applicants can view position vacancies and job descriptions on the city’s hiring site, https://copperascove.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
As of Friday, Jan. 20, the city had 21 vacancies posted, such as laborer positions, water distribution operator positions, budget analyst, patrol officers, light equipment operators, and more. Looking ahead to the upcoming summer season, lifeguard and other pool positions are also listed.
“We will have computers set up where the applicant can immediately apply for a vacant position,” said Jeff Davis, the City’s Director of Human Resources.
The number of vacancies for the City can vary from week to week, and current listings will be available at the fair.
Even though the city isn’t holding an “on the spot” hiring event like some companies, prospective employees will have a chance to meet with city department reps face to face.
“One of the major benefits of an in-house job fair is that all the departments with vacancies will all be available, and the applicant can speak directly to the people they would be working for,” said Davis.
“They can ask questions about individual jobs that are available and apply online with provided computers at the job fair.
