City of Copperas Cove election packets available now: candidate filing opens July 23

The City of Copperas Cove announced on Friday, July 15, that candidate packets for the Nov. 8 general election are now available on the city’s website or at the City Secretary’s office.
Positions open for election on the Copperas Cove city council are Place 3, Place 4, and Place 5.
Place 3 is currently occupied by Shawn Alzona, who won the seat in November 2021 to fill the unexpired term when Dan Yancey won his bid for mayor and vacated the seat.
Place 4 is currently occupied by Jay Manning. Manning is completing his second three-year term of office and is term-limited and cannot run for the seat a third time.
Place 5 is currently occupied by Dianne Campbell. Campbell is completing her first three-year term of office in Place 5. She was first elected to office in 2019.
Applications for a place on the ballot will be accepted at the City Secretary’s office from July 23, through August 22, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
