As Christmas inches closer, there are still activities for families to do in Copperas Cove and nearby to celebrate the holiday season.
Logsdon Santa will be available for one last photo opportunity with Santa Claus on December 24, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Logsdon Santa is located at 3222 Logsdon St in Copperas Cove.
The Cove Theater, located downtown, will continue showing Christmas movies, showing “A Nightmare Before Christmas” on December 21-22, “It’s a Wonderful Life” on December 22 for adults only, “A Christmas Story” on December 23, 25 and 26, and “Home Alone” on December 23, 25 and 26. Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office or through links found on the Cove Theater’s Facebook page.
Santa Claus will make an appearance at the Oakalla Public Library today, December 21, at 6 p.m. He will bring goodie bags for the children and will read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’, cookies and Christmas punch served as refreshments.
For those looking for a place to celebrate the reason for the season, local churches are holding Christmas Eve services. The Holy Family Catholic Church will have its annual Christmas Cantata on Wednesday, December 22, starting at 7 p.m. Grace United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on December 24, at 8 p.m. Immanuel Lutheran Church will hold their Christmas Eve Candlelight Service as well, at 6:30 p.m. on December 24.
Outside of Copperas Cove, families can enjoy even more festivities. BLORA’s Nature in Lights celebrates 25 years this year and is open to the public through Jan. 2, 2022. Vehicles that drive through BLORA Nature in Lights on Monday-Wednesday evenings will receive a Collector’s 14th Edition Annual Nature In Lights ornament, while supplies last.
Families can see 5.5-miles of lights as they listen to Christmas music via radio station 91.9 FM.
Halfway through the trail, Santa’s Village sits in the Live Oak Pavilion and is open each night from 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. through December 24. There are vendor booths, crafts and a virtual, non-contact photo session with Santa, complete with a digital copy of the picture and custom photo ornament for $20.
Pony rides are also available for $5 at BLORA Ranch through December 24.
Entry fees for Nature in Lights are $20 for cars, mini-vans and pick-ups, $35 for limousines, 15-passenger vans and RVs; $55 for 24-passenger vans; and $80 for 47-passenger vans or larger buses.
