The Copperas Cove Independent School District Board of Trustees will be considering several purchases related to professional development, attendance software, unemployment and workers’ compensation coverage and a variety of Special Education services related to speech pathology services, physical therapy services and more, for a total amount of more than $1.35 million, during its regular meeting Tuesday evening.
The board meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and will take place in the Board of Trustees meeting room at the CCISD Administration Building at 408 S. Main Street.
Board policy states that “any individual item that costs $25,000 or more, regardless of whether the item is budgeted or competitively purchased, shall require Board approval before a transaction may take place.” These purchases that exceed $25,000 are included in the Consent Agenda for the board to consider all at once.
The items to be considered include the renewal of the Region 12 Education Service Center contract for the 2021-2022 school year, for $81,669.39, using budgeted funds. The district contracts annually with the Region 12 Education Service Center in Waco, TX to assist with professional development and a variety of other services which support campuses, curriculum and instruction, federal programs, student services and the business services department.
Another item is for the renewal of the districtwide Frontline Education Software for the absence and substitute management; time and attendance management; IEP eStar; 504 program management and recruiting and hiring solution, for a total cost of $108,194.77.
Also on the list is the renewal of the Skyward software license for Financial Management; Payroll; PEIMS; Human Resources; Student; and Family Access for $146,781.56, and ISCORP (Integrated Systems Corporation) - Skyward software hosting services for $26,710.56.
The TASB unemployment and workers’ compensation coverage for 2021-2022 is on the list, for a total cost of $182,562.
The district will also be contracting with Margo Pace and Eldri Marshall for Special Education physical therapy services, for a contract price of $45,000 each.
Another item is a contract with Lapierre Consulting LLC, worth $25,000, to supervise and support Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) interns in CCISD.
One of the higher priced contracts is for $550,000, with Candor Consulting & Diagnosticians, LLC to provide the services of diagnosticians, speech language pathologist and any other assessment staff as needed district wide.
Another contract for Special Education speech language pathology services is with Spontaneous Expressions, worth $145,000, to provide speech therapy, supervision and evaluation services as needed district wide.
The board will also take action on an election order for the Board of Trustees for Nov. 2. Two trustee positions, Place 1 (currently occupied by Inez Faison) and Place 2 (currently occupied by Shameria A. Davis), are up for election.
The board will also take action on the purchase of water bottle fillers, using ESSER III Funds, for a total amount of $178,547.40. The district installed water bottle fillers in the main area of each campus last year, but this purchase will allow the district to install them at every existing water fountain on each campus.
The board will also take action on Construction Materials Testing with Langerman Foster Engineering Company for a budgeted cost of $49,973. The drainage project at Copperas Cove High School and Martin Walker Elementary School requires third-party materials testing, to include soils testing, rebar observation, and concrete testing.
