CCEDC hosting Skilled Trades Hiring Event
Special to the Leader-Press
The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation’s upcoming Skilled Trades Hiring Event will have more than 20 companies participating.
The Skilled Trades Hiring Event will take place on Tuesday, February 18, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Civic Center.
This event, designed to connect skilled trades professionals with local employment opportunities, is hosted in partnership with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, the Texas Veterans Commission, Central Texas College, and CATI Skilled Trades Training.
Following feedback from job seekers at last summer’s Regional Career Fair, the CCEDC identified a strong demand for more trades-related job opportunities.
The Skilled Trades Hiring Event is a direct response to this request, offering job seekers a focused platform to connect with several Central Texas employers representing various skilled trade industries.
In addition to local employers, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with colleges and training facilities to learn more about trades education programs that can enhance their skills and qualifications.
The following companies will be present:
CyberTex institute of technology
Grand Canyon University

Directorate of Public Works, US Army Garrison

“This event is not just for those already in these industries looking for their next career step, it’s also a great opportunity for young adults who are looking to develop skills as they enter the workforce,” said Brittany Sanders, Workforce Development Specialist at the CCEDC.
The Skilled Trades Hiring Event is open to the public and free to attend. Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.
