A new business catering to those who love the aroma of fine cigars and pipe tobacco is hosting a ribbon cutting and grand opening today, starting at 5 p.m. Brothers Fine Tobacco is located at 2208 E Hwy 190, Suite 2, and will have special guests to celebrate to include Southern Draw Cigars and Solid Rock Brewing. John Cabellos, the shop owner, said Brothers Fine Tobacco will hand out gift bags starting at 5 p.m. to the first 25 in the door for the ribbon cutting. Each bag will have at least one cigar, a cutter, beard oil sample from The Bearded Archer, and a 10 percent off coupon for the next visit to the store. Also, everyone who comes to the grand opening will receive a ticket for the grand prize drawing, a cherry wood glass-top humidor with five cigars, along with a cutter and a lighter. Shoppers can earn extra tickets for the drawing for every stick purchased during the grand opening, and the winner need not be present to win. “I strive for consistent quality with the products I sell,” Cabellos said. He first became interested in fine tobacco in 2011, and his interest and passion for the product has resulted in the first upscale tobacco shop and lounge of its kind in Copperas Cove. Brothers Fine Tobacco offers a wide selection of fine cigars, pipes and pipe tobacco, and has a free smoking lounge. It also sells accessories like cutters, pipe tools, and humidification. Each month, the shop highlights a Cigar of the Month. May’s specialty cigar is the Hugo Cassar, produced by the Ventura Cigar Company in Esteli, Nicaragua. The Cassar has a Sumatra wrapper and Nicaraguan filler, offering a smooth, mild smoke. It has flavors of sweet tobacco, toasted bread and dried herbs and comes in short robusto and Corona sizes. During May, the Hugo Cessar is buy one, get one 50 percent off. In addition to Hugo Cessar, the shop carries cigar brands like Gurkha, Romeo and Juliet, Perdomo and more. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday 4:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., and is closed Sunday and Monday
