Quilting bee only local family for some members
By DAVID MORRIS
The ladies from the Batty Piecemakers Quilting Bee gather inside the sanctuary of Copperas Cove Christian Church for their therapy sessions as they stitch together lap quilts, one four inch square at a time. Coming from different backgrounds with different circumstances the quilting circle has one common thread; they enjoy the art of quilting. “This is our therapy and best of all we don’t have to lay on someone’s couch to get the stress out,” Angie Purvis said. “We gather at the church on the last Friday of the month for machine work and gossip while we quilt.”
