AdventHealth to acquire Family Medicine Clinic

AdventHealth will soon acquire the Family Medicine Clinics located in Copperas Cove and Lampasas, creating a new entity: AdventHealth Family Medicine Rural Health Clinic, Inc.
The official date for the acquisition is Sunday, Sept. 1.
“We are extremely excited about the benefits this new partnership will bring to Copperas Cove and Lampasas,” said Kevin Roberts, president and CEO of AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen and AdventHealth Rollins Brook in Lampasas. “By joining forces with the Family Medicine Clinics, AdventHealth will be able to provide a more connected health care experience to those we serve across this region.”
According to Roberts, this expansion is among the first steps AdventHealth has made in taking a more consumer-friendly approach when providing health care in Central Texas. Between its two clinics, AdventHealth Family Medicine Rural Health Clinic will employ eight full-time primary care physicians and six advanced practice providers. This will allow patients to get the services they need without having to leave their home town to get it.  It will also connect the Family Medicine Clinic network to AdventHealth, making the transition from clinic to hospital seamless.
“Healthcare has a reputation of being confusing and hard to use,” said Roberts. “By expanding our primary care base, AdventHealth will be able to provide a health care experience that is more connected, meaning that whether you come to one of our stand-alone clinics or one of our hospitals, our systems will all work together getting you the consumer the high-quality care that is easier to understand and navigate.”
