84th annual Kinsey/Coskrey family reunion set for this weekend
Special to Leader-Press
Descendants of early pioneer families of Coryell County, Texas, the Kinseys and the Coskreys, will gather for their annual reunion on June 8, 9, and 10 2018. This will be the 84th time that the reunion has been held; the first time was in 1934.
The family will gather for dinner and fellowship on Friday evening, June 8, at the Senior Citizen Center, 208 N. Lutterloh, Gatesville, Texas. There will be an open meeting at the same location on Saturday, June 9, beginning at 8:30 a.m. There will be a brief business meeting, genealogical programs, door prizes, and other activities. Family members will be able to do local research and visit the Coryell County Museum. Dinner will be at the Feed Mill on Saturday evening.
A covered dish meal will be held on Sunday, June 10, at the Senior Citizen Center. The building will be open early for visiting, games and memorials of those family members who passed away in the last year. Descendants of Thomas Kinsey Sr. and Sarah Jane McNutt, and descendants of James C. Coskrey and Nancy Dorentha Vining are encouraged to attend. As in the past, family members will bring covered dishes for lunch.
All descendants and interested persons are invited to attend the gatherings. For more information, contact Barbara Huntley, 254-865-2460, or Cathy Wood Osborn, 254-721-0674.
