Several dozen people came out to drink, eat, dance, play and buy at the Inaugural Buyer’s Club Casino Night held Saturday evening at the Copperas Cove Civic Center.
The purpose of the event was to raise more funds for the Buyer’s Club to use at the Coryell County Fair in January, according to Buyer’s Club president Gretchen McWhorter.
The Copperas Cove Buyer’s Club is a non-profit organization that bids on the projects- whether they are animals or property or materials- that FFA or 4-H students of Copperas Cove have worked on that make it to auction at the county fair. The Buyer’s Club does not keep the animal it bids on but will keep any projects that aren’t an animal, McWhorter said.
