The roar of engines could be heard from the sea of motorcyclists that stretched back for miles as the riders made the journey from Temple to their final destination at Copperas Cove’s Ogletree Gap. The Toy Run spans Bell, Coryell and Lampasas Counties. More than 860 riders participated in Sunday’s 22nd annual Tri-County Toy Run which sponsored 12,308 children and 23 different charities this year. “It’s for the kids. 100 percent for the kids. Nobody in the group is paid. Everybody does it in order to help these kids,” said Bruce Raymond, who has been Santa Claus for the event for the last 16 years. “Everybody here has got the same drive. It’s about the joy of seeing a happy child with a smile.”
