Two outdoor run/walk events will give locals the opportunity to get out and move this month.
Held in-person for the first time since 2019, the Gallop or Trot 5K run/walk is set for Saturday, Sept. 16 at Copperas Cove City Park. The event had been canceled in 2022, and was virtual in 2020 and 2021.
At the Gallop or Trot 5K, runners follow the course through City Park and then the gently rolling hills in Copperas Cove’s residential area nearby. For questions, call the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce at (254) 547-7571.
Registration is $50 for the Gallop or Trot and can be done online at https://runsignup.com/galloportrot and the fee is nonrefundable. This event is part of the CenTex Race Series.
Likewise, one week later, on Saturday Sept. 23, the Pink Warrior Angels will host their annual fundraiser, the 9th Annual Pink Warrior Dash 5k, also from 8-10 a.m. at the same location in Copperas Cove City Park. The event includes music, crafts, and food, and will be held concurrently with Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful’s Fall Sweep at the park.
Last chance registration for the 5K is $40 and can be done at www.pinkwarriorangels.org.
Same day registration at the event will start at 7 a.m.
With a presenting Sponsor of Integrity Rehab, the Pink Warrior Dash 5k raises funds for Pink Warrior Angels, which provides financial aid to cancer patients and also supplies them with chemo care kits and other items during their treatments.
