The Copperas Cove YMCA had a busy traffic flow on Saturday while hosting its fourth annual member appreciation day. “This is our fourth year,” said Doreen Vasseur, the director. “We started this when we opened our new gym, as a way to thank our members. Then we started having it every year and it’s turned into a back to school party.” The celebration was open to the community, and a variety of community groups and businesses were on hand to draw families in. The Copperettes kicked off the day with a morning performance, followed by a Zumba class and demonstration in the gym, led by Jeannette Valentine. Later on, the Copperas Cove cheer leaders performed a few routines outside.
