Approximately 145 cyclists gathered in the parking lot of First Baptist Church on Saturday for the annual Cove House Classic bike tour, to help raise funds for the city’s homeless shelter. By the time preregistration ended, 102 riders had registered, with more registering during the 24 hours prior to the event and on the morning of the ride. As of press time, $3,500 had been raised for the city’s homeless shelter. “This is our largest registration ever,” said Stephanie Malley, who is on the Cove House board and also helped organize the event.
