Oakalla flips pancakes, has silent auction

espite a gray, drizzly evening with a hint of ice in the air, the community of Oakalla gathered Saturday night to hold their annual all-you-can-eat pancake dinner. They hold the event to raise funds to help renovate their community center, which houses their public library as well as supports localevents. Silent auction items included things likegardening tools and gadgets, antique spurs, tool sets, bird feeder and bird feed, a large signed and framed Western art print, two potted herb gardens, as well as a variety of handmade embroidered items like towels and tote bags. Even a refrigerator was up for bids.
