Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful will be holding Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful Day this Saturday.
Volunteers are invited to come out to help beautify their community. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Volunteers will meet in the Santa Fe parking lot across from the old Cove Theatre, located at 112 W. Avenue D, before splitting into different sections.
Volunteers will remove graffiti at Heritage Park and the drainage ditch at Creek Street and Sunny Avenue. There will also be a litter pickup along Lutheran Church Road and along E. Business 190, near Lone Star Pediatric Dental. There will be weed removal at the Avenue D planters, as well as a sidewalk cleanup along Avenue D.
“We wanted to have a day where we encouraged our citizens to be the change in our community,” said KCCB Executive Director Roxanne Flores-Achmad.
KCCB has held trash pickup and waterway cleanup events as well as other individual beautifying events in the past, but this will be the first time that volunteers will be tackling different types of projects all at once.
Flores-Achmad said KCCB will provide all necessary supplies but encouraged volunteers to come prepared to get dirty.
