The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation voted Thursday to approve a resolution to back the City of Copperas Cove in its application for grant money to fund a downtown sidewalk program and pay 10 percent of the project cost, should the city receive the grant. “This is the result of negotiations I’ve had with the city manager over the last few months” said Polo Enriquez, executive director of the EDC. The Killeen-Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization is awarding grants for city improvement projects, which would allocate fiscal year 2013-2014 category 9 funds in fiscal year 2014-2015. The city asked the EDC to chip in no more than 10 percent, which is an estimated $45,994.30 of the total project cost.
