CTC Nursing dept. to hold job fair

Special to Leader-Press

The Central Texas College (CTC) Nursing department will hold its annual spring semester Nursing/EMT Job Fair on Wednesday, March 23 in the CTC Nursing Center (Bldg. 155) from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event is designed to give nursing and emergency medical technology (EMT) students the opportunity to meet with potential employers as well as offer employers a chance to meet and screen potential nursing employees.

Graduating CTC nursing students from both the applied science nursing and the vocational nursing programs and those completing the EMT program will have the opportunity to speak with several employers from hospitals and other health care agencies in the area about employment opportunities, qualifications and possible careers. Also on hand will be representatives from various four-year universities to discuss transferring options to those interested in pursuing a four-year nursing or EMT degree.

This semester, CTC has approximately 135 students in the associate degree in nursing program, 50 licensed vocational nursing students and 30 EMT students who will complete their course work in the spring semester and then seek employment.

Any healthcare agency interested in participating can purchase a vendor booth for $200 which will benefit the CTC Student Nurses Association. To reserve space, call the CTC Nursing department at 254-526-1299.
