Council canvasses votes from runoff

Less than a week after the polls closed, Copperas Cove City Council members Frank Seffrood, Jim Schmitz and Mark Peterson joined Mayor John Hull and City Manager Andrea Gardner inside the council chambers Monday to canvass the returns for the runoff election between Azeita Taylor and Kirby Lack for the Place 5 seat on the council. City charter states that two of the presiding council members constitute a quorum, so after roll call City Secretary Mariela Altott brought the one agenda item to the members.
