Children ages 0-10 will have the chance to hunt for eggs at City Park’s ballfields for Copperas Cove’s annual Easter Egg Roundup on Saturday, April 8.
Starting at 9 a.m., the 0-3 year-olds will get a chance to hunt for eggs on field #1, followed by children ages 4-6 on field #2 at 9:15 a.m. Children ages 7-10 can hunt for eggs on field #3 at 9:30 a.m.
Lineups for each hunt begin 15 minutes prior to each age category.
Door prizes and giveaways are also part of the Easter Egg Roundup fun this year for the children.
Three gift baskets from H-E-B Plus! Will be given away. There will also be Cinergy Cinema VIP passes and a gift basket, day passes to city pools, and two gift baskets from Cash Advance America that will be given away to lucky winners.
From 9:45 until 11 a.m., the Easter Bunny will be on site for a photo opportunity.
This year, the Easter Egg Roundup offers a new twist for kids with intellectual or physical disabilities as part of the city’s adaptive program, which the city’s parks and recreation department began last fall.
“With the intent and desired effects of the Superhero Sports Program, we wanted to also offer a field solely to our kiddos with Copperas Cove who participate in our Superhero Leagues and/or have an intellectual/physical disability...and give these kiddos an opportunity to hunt for eggs unimpeded,” said Joe Brown, Copperas Cove’s Director of Parks & Recreation.
The Superhero Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Field #1 for children up to 18 years old who have physical or intellectual disabilities. This hunt takes place from 9:30-9:45 a.m., with lineup starting at 9:15 a.m.
