The annual H-E-B Summer Run to Fun 5K is set for Saturday at 8 a.m. at Copperas Cove City Park. Originally, the event had been scheduled for South Park, but due to recent rains and conditions, it was decided to move the event to City Park.
This chip timed event, held by the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce, is part of the Cen-Tex Race Series. The race begins and ends at City Park, while the route takes runners through the neighborhood along nearby Courtney Lane.
This year, the event will also have a virtual component and participants may complete the route on their own, between Friday, June 18, until 11 p.m. Sunday, June 20.
Registration for either run format is $30 per person. Online registration closes Thursday at 11:59 p.m., but will reopen on Saturday morning starting at 5 a.m. at https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/CopperasCove/SummerRuntoFun.
Entry fees are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable.
Packet pick-up for those already registered will be available Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce, 204 Robertson Ave.
Race-day registration and packet pick-up will be at the race site from 7:00-7:45 a.m. Race-day registration is via personal device, i.e., cellphone only, credit/debit card payment methods preferred.
