Wright returns to her roots for Boots & Buckles Gala

The stars were out on Saturday night at the Copperas Cove Civic Center for the third annual Boots & Buckles Gala, held by the Copperas Cove Education Foundation.

 

In addition to a catered barbecue supper and the chance to bid on a wide variety of silent auction items, the biggest draw for many was the chance to hear from Shereka Wright, former Lady Dawgs basketball standout, WNBA player and now assistant coach and director of recruiting for the University of Alabama.

 

Master of ceremonies Bob Snyder called Wright the “most profound woman basketball player who ever strapped on a pair of high tops for CCISD.”
