Eight area mayors sign sustainability proclamation on Fort Hood

The mayors of eight Central Texas cities along with Fort Hood’s garrison commander Col. Todd Fox gathered Friday morning near the pavilion of Fort Hood’s Sportsmen’s Club to sign a proclamation in commemoration of Earth Day, proclaiming the month of April as Sustainable Environment Month.
The signing took place at an Earth Day celebration hosted by Fort Hood’s Department of Public Works.
Timi Dutchuk with Fort Hood’s DPW, introduced Brad Hamel with the Texas A&M Forest Service, who spoke a few words about the importance of sustainability and the benefits of trees.
