Early voting starts Monday for Dec. 7 runoff election in Copperas Cove

Polls will be open Monday, Nov. 29 through Friday, Dec, 3 for early voting for the Dec. 7 runoff election for Copperas Cove city council Place 3.
Voting will take place at the Copperas Cove Early Voting Center from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. next week, with the exception of Tuesday, when polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Early Voting Center is located at 508-B Cove Terrace Shopping Center.
Tuesday, Dec. 7, runoff election day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The runoff will take place between Shawn Alzona and Scott A. Remalia.
The two candidates received the most votes in the Nov. 2 special election for Place 3, which has a term that expires in November 2022. Alzona received 734 votes, or 49 percent. Remalia received 379 votes, or 26 percent. A third candidate, William Gregory Smith received 372 votes, or 25 percent.
