I don’t often listen to TV preachers, but when I do, I listen to Andy Stanley. The first Sunday of the year in churches across America, the main topic of the sermon was probably what to do in a new year. But the topic of handling a new year isn’t limited to people who go to church. It’s something most of us think about. Out with the old, in with the new. Breaking bad habits, establishing new ones. It’s good and sometimes painful stuff. Ask me the next time I see a cupcake...
Stanley had some great thoughts for the new year and his main point was instead of focusing on yourself and what you can do to make yourself over, to turn your focus outward as a new year’s resolution.
“If you really want to become a better person, do something to make the world a better place,” he said.
