The “P” word

The P word was used a lot at Saturday’s Rabbit Fest Pageant. P stands for platform, and platform has come to have a different meaning in recent years. It used to mean something you could stand on (literally), for speaking, diving, transportation, and even shoes. With the computer age, it has to do with the operating system.

 

Now, the word platform has become something else: What do you stand for? What is the one thing you’re going to do that you’ll “stand on” in the community?

 

Girls as young as nine years old talked about their platform at the pageant on Saturday, what their reign would stand for. What cause will they advance, what “one thing” drives them and motivates them?
