Barbara Muniz was arrested on Thursday evening by Copperas Cove police after a call received by police regarding a gunshot victim.
They were dispatched to a home in the 2400 block of Phyllis Drive, where the victim, Jesus Muniz, had suffered a gunshot injury to the jaw.
“The investigation revealed that Barbara Muniz, the victim’s wife, was the perpetrator of the assault,” Sgt. Martin Ruiz with Copperas Cove police stated in a Friday morning press release. “Barbara was arrested and transported to the Copperas Cove Jail where she was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – family violence.”
Ruiz said Jesus Muniz was transported to Scott & White Hospital by Copperas Cove EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
Barbara Muniz was arraigned on Friday by Coryell County Justice of the Peace John Guinn and received a $20,000 personal bond.
