Russell Ray Dougherty II

Russell Ray Dougherty II, was called home by the Lord on October 14, 2016, when he died suddenly of natural causes. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Keller.

Russell was born on July 7, 1966 in Stuttgart Bad Constadt, W. Germany. Russell was a committed Christian. He professed Christ as his savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church, Copperas Cove Texas in 1979. Over the years he was a faithful member of several Baptist churches including Gambrel St. Baptist Church in Fort Worth and First Baptist Church, Keller since 2001. He grew up in the military and lived all over the US and in Germany. He lived all of his adult life in Ft. Worth with the exception of his time at the University of North Texas, where he graduated with a degree in Rehabilitative Studies in 1995. He was a committed Mean Green football fan. He loved sports of all kinds, was a model railroad enthusiast and enjoyed good music, especially popular music from the ‘SOs and ‘60s.
 
He was a wonderful son, a great brother, a devoted uncle and a true friend.
 
Survivors: His parents, Russell “Chris” and Donna Kay Dougherty of Fort Worth; his brother, Michael Dougherty and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Dougherty along with nephews Charles Vrana and Ian Dougherty, and nieces, Kyra and Julia Dougherty also of Fort Worth; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
